    Groups of low-key male water striders mated with more females than did groups of highly sexually aggressive males, according to a study led by Omar Tonsi Eldakar of the UA's Arizona Research Laboratories.

  • In an academic environment bustling with research activity such as the UA, scientists routinely make discoveries that hold the potential for new drugs, new medical treatments or new medical devices. However, it can take years for such a discovery to make it from the “lab bench” to the “bedside” in the form of a new treatment for patients.

  • University of Arizona science and business students have a unique opportunity to network with representatives from top Arizona bioscience companies Wed., February 24, 2010 from 4-6:00 pm at BIO5’s Thomas W. Keating Bioresearch Building, 1657 E. Helen St. in Tucson.

    Students from around the state may now apply for the six-week KEYS life sciences summer internship program run by UA's BIO5 Institute and Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center in the College of Pharmacy. Previously, the internship program focused solely on students from the Tucson area. Completed applications must be mailed and postmarked no later than Monday, March 1, 2010.
