The awardees for 2006 are:
Mikhal Gold, who is an undergraduate student majoring in Molecular & Cellular Biology and working on research in the laboratory of Dr. Emmanuel Akporiaye in the Dept. of Microbiology & Immunology. Mikhal's work has translational potential for the development of new cancer treatment options.
Barbara Bendlin, who is working on her thesis in the Psychology Department with Dr. Lee Ryan. She established collaborations outside her own department in pursuit of her multidisciplinary research to explore potential means of reducing the risk of Alzheimer's Disease.
