Biomedical engineering and optical sciences professor Dongkyun "DK" Kang is developing a way to diagnose and treat corneal ulcers that's eight times cheaper and 20 times faster than today's gold standard. From a smartphone camera to diagnose cancer in rural settings, a partnership between Kang and a researcher in the UK seeks to serve rural populations while also creating a better patient experience.
