BIO5 Resources
The Thomas W. Keating Bioresearch Building (Keating) and Biosciences Research Laboratories (BSRL) offer a wide range of spaces and services to support your research.

Building Access
To enter Keating or BSRL, you must use a biometric CatCard with a magnetic strip on the back.
If you don’t yet have a biometric CatCard, visit the CatCard Office to obtain one before requesting access. Fingerprint enrollment can be completed at the CatCard Office or by appointment at Keating with Mario Marquez (marquez4@bio5.org).
Access portal login options
For U of A Employees:
- NetID
- Valid University of Arizona email address
- Current work position
For Visitors (via host lab):
- Login name
- Case-sensitive password
- Valid email address
Use the portal to request new access or update existing access.
IT & Facilities Support
If you work in the Keating or BSRL buildings, or are affiliated with BIO5, use the BIO5 ServiceNow Portal to request assistance for:
- IT support (computer issues, software, printers, etc.)
- Facilities support (maintenance, repairs, room issues)
- Golf cart reservations and maintenance
- Exterior or building-related concerns (lighting, landscaping)
Not sure where your request falls?
No problem—just submit a ticket through the portal. The system will route your request to the appropriate support team, whether it's BIO5, UITS, or Facilities Management.
When submitting a ticket, we recommend putting "BIO5" in the description and including your location (building and room), NetID, equipment involved, and a brief description of the issue.
Keating Conference Rooms
Several conference and meeting rooms are available for use by BIO5 members, as well as Keating and BSRL building residents.
Before you reserve:
- First-floor rooms (103, 107, and 109) require a KFS number and signed contract (contact the BIO5 Front Office for more information).
- Room 103 is the only space with in-room PC video conferencing capabilities.

BSRL Conference Rooms
Conference and meeting rooms in the BSRL building are also open to BIO5 members, as well as Keating and BSRL building residents.
Before you reserve:
- Rooms can be reserved online or via the touch panel outside each room.
- The BSRL lobby and courtyard are also available for reservation.
- You can modify or delete your reservations online as needed with your password.

Equipment & Resource Reservations
BIO5 members and as well Keating and BSRL building residents can reserve the following items for meetings, events, and presentations:

Golf Cart Reservations
BIO5 members and Keating building residents may reserve BIO5 golf carts for university-related use. Training and documentation are required prior to reserving.
Required training for BIO5 golf carts:
- Complete required training via EDGE Learning:
- U of A Driver Certification
- Utility Cart Safety
- Review and sign the BIO5 Golf Cart Policies Agreement
- Available in the BIO5 Box Drive
- Submit your documents
- Email completion certificates and the signed agreement to bio5office@bio5.org
How to reserve a golf carts:
- Visit the BIO5 Reservation System at the link below
- Login using your NetID
- Select BIO5 Vehicles from the menu and choose which golf cart you would like to reserve.
Building Emergency Plans
Access the current Emergency Plans for the Keating and BSRL buildings via the University of Arizona Emergency Management website.
Steps to find plans:
- Scroll down to “Find Your Building Emergency Plan.”
- Under “Main Campus – Tucson”, click “Locate A Building on a Map.”
- On the map, select Keating or BSRL.
- Click the red “Emergency Plan” link.
- Log in with your NetID to view or download the latest Building Emergency Plan (PDF).
Laundry Service
Laundry service is provided by Sparkle Cleaners. Services can include lab cat wash, lab coat wash and press, pocket repair, and button replacement.

Research Services & Tools
As a BIO5 researcher or member, you have access to services located on or near the tri-building from genomics, imaging, irradiation, media, sensors, device prototyping, and more.
**Some services are available to external users.
Data & Software Services
As a BIO5 researcher or member, you have access to computational resources and experts on or near the tri-building. This includes informatics tools, geographic information systems, machine learning, data analysis, and much more.
**All of these services are also available to external U of A users.
