A team of researchers in the School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences redirected their focus from infectious diseases to the community's immediate need for personal protective equipment amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As of April 14, 2020, the hand sanitizer project has prepared approximately 500 liters and dispensed over 1,500 bottles and sprays. The group of faculty, staff and students is lead by Drs. Gayatri Vedantam and VK Viswanathan.
