BIO5 Research and Innovation Showcase brings campus scientists together for sixth year
From first-time presenters to experienced investigators, this annual BIO5 event on Oct. 14 offered a space to exchange ideas across disciplines.

The BIO5 Institute buzzed with energy and curiosity as University of Arizona students, faculty, and staff came together to share their work at the 2025 BIO5 Research and Innovation Showcase.
More than 50 posters filled the halls and breezeway, covering topics from aging and biology to cancer and infectious disease. While many presenters are supported by the BIO5 Institute, the showcase welcomes participants from across the university who are eager to connect and exchange ideas.
Now in its sixth year, the gathering drew more than 105 attendees, reflecting its continued growth as a campus-wide celebration of discovery and collaboration.
For early career scientists, the showcase offers valuable experience presenting their work, receiving feedback, and building relationships that can spark future collaborations.
High school trainees and undergraduates also took part through programs such as the KEYS Research Internship and BIO5 Flinn Scholar Research Experience, both designed to offer research career development through hands-on learning and mentorship opportunities.
Alongside the poster sessions, BIO5 Postdoctoral Fellows delivered lightning talks on their current projects supported through the institute. The one-year fellowship helps postdoctoral scholars develop independence and advance their professional goals through funding, guidance, and skill-building opportunities.
As the showcase evolves each year, its influence continues to grow—encouraging new connections, supporting emerging scientists, and bringing different fields together. Events like this reflect how the BIO5 Institute creates an environment where collaboration leads to meaningful discovery.
