A new report co-authored by a professor of nutritional sciences Dr. Scott Going finds that daily exercise for school children is essential - so essential, that physical education should become a "core academic subject." Dr. Going's report asks the U.S. Department of Education to craft a national policy to help reverse the trend since 2001's No Child Left Behind Act that has caused schools to reduce recess and physical education to instead focus on standardized tests.
