Working with the BioIndustry Organization Southern Arizona (BIOSA), the BIO5 Institute has successfully connected hundreds of U of A students with representatives from the Arizona bioscience industry each February.
Undergraduate and graduate students in life sciences, medicine, chemistry, engineering, computer and information sciences, and business programs can meet potential mentors, secure internships, and investigate future job opportunities.
Past events have included career and entrepreneurship presentations, information on trends in the biomedical industry, and panel members with companies including:

In general, exhibitors are there to network, inform students about their company, and possibly collect resumes for future openings. Some companies may have job and/or intern openings.
In general, company representatives are not prepared to interview students onsite.
They are prepared to talk about their companies, what it is like to work there, how their own careers unfolded, and how to pursue internships/jobs in their companies.
Registering online ensures your admittance and a name badge upon your arrival.
Walk-ins will be admitted if the event is not overcrowded after completing a registration form.
No, you may arrive and leave at any time. Just make sure to allot the time you need to speak with company representatives.
Be prepared to talk about your relevant past experience, including course works, internships, and jobs. You can also ask the companies what they are currently looking for when hiring.
Yes, bringing along copies of an updated resume may prove useful.
Considering dressing to make a positive first impression in a more corporate setting. Business attire is recommended (button up shirts, blouse, work slacks or skirt, jacket and/or tie).
Visit with the check-in desk to get your name tag and a map depicting exhibitors. Then, you are free to roam the exhibit hall.
