The Biosciences Research Laboratories (1230 N Cherry Ave Tucson, AZ 85721) is a vital hub for advancing bioscience research and improving health across Arizona. The facility supports work in biosensors, bioimaging, bioinformatics, healthy aging, precision medicine and genomics technology. 

Completed in 2018 through a partnership between the University of Arizona Office of Research and Partnerships and Health Sciences, the 150,000 sq. foot building accommodates over 50 faculty and 300 graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and staff.

Building Access

To enter BSRL, you must use a biometric CatCard with a magnetic strip on the back.

IT & Facilities Support

If you work in the BSRL building, or are affiliated with BIO5, use the ServiceNow Portal to request assistance for:

  • IT support (computer issues, software, printers, etc.)
  • Facilities support (maintenance, repairs, room issues)
  • Golf cart reservations and maintenance
  • Exterior or building-related concerns (lighting, landscaping)

Make a BSRL Room Reservation

You can reserve a BSRL building room as well as the BSRL lobby and plaza (courtyard). You can reserve rooms up to 90 days in advance.

Rooms can be reserved in person using the wall-mounted touch panel. If the lights are green, press "Use Now", adjust the time, enter your name and meeting purpose, and press OK. The panel will turn red when reserved.
 

Online Room Reservation in BSRL

  1. Go to BSRL Online Reservations. If using Wi-Fi or working remotely, connect to the BIO5 VPN before reserving.
  2. Adjust the reservation date at the top.
  3. Click on a 15-minute time block next to the room you'd like to reserve.
  4. Enter your name, purpose, start/end time, and an optional password to modify/cancel.
  5. Click Save to finalize the reservation.

Reserve A BSRL Room

You can delete or modify your reservation by using the optional password. Review the BSRL conference room AV instructions to answer any technology questions.

BSRL Lobby & Courtyard Reservation

  1. Log in to AHSC Resource Scheduling using a NetID.
  2. Select BSRL as the building.
  3. Choose either BSRL Lobby or BSRL Plaza (courtyard).
  4. Pick your desired date and time.
  5. Under "Purpose" enter your reason for the reservation and submit your KFS account.If reserving BSRL Plaza (courtyard), provide a layout of intended use.
  6. Click "Request Reservation" and the BIO5 Front Office will review and confirm your reservation.

Reserve BSRL Lobby or Plaza

You can make a reservation up to 6 months in advance. To cancel a lobby or courtyard reservation, delete in the online portal (navigate to reservation date, click on reservation title, click "Whole Reservation" and select Delete) and notify the BIO5 Front Office of your cancellation.

Research Services & Tools

As a BIO5 researcher or member, you have access to services located on or near the Keating building, from genomics, imaging, irradiation, media, sensors, device prototyping, and more. 

**Some services are available to external users.

 

Data & Software Services

As a BIO5 researcher or member, you have access to computational resources and experts on or near the Keating building. This includes informatics tools, geographic information systems, machine learning, data analysis, and much more. 

**All of these services are also available to external U of A users.
