My Research Computing group, and myself, are funded by the University of Arizona to empower researchers from every department. Last year we worked with 426 research labs across 100 departments at the University. I’d like to engage the BIO5 community further as a member and to support the need for research computing, digital skills like coding and modern data management, and to extend connections to other colleges/departments outside BIO5’s five main focus areas. I have traditionally taught Software and Data Carpentry classes for the BIO5 community and would like to continue those efforts. Having some support for marketing and communication for those efforts would help both BIO5 members and my Research Computing group. I would also like to be considered for research computing aspects when BIO5 puts together teams for collaborative research projects and initiatives (Nirav can only do so many things at a time!).
