Chanae Lopez is a KEYS student assistant at the BIO5 Institute and a neuroscience and cognitive science major at the University of Arizona. She supports the BIO5 Institute's KEYS Research Internship social events, administrative tasks, and teaching assistance across the program.

She helps engage KEYS interns academically and socially as they begin exploring research pathways, providing guidance and support as they navigate their future in science. She focuses on communication, continuous improvement, and helping interns feel prepared and connected throughout their experience.

Drawing on her background in neuroscience and her interest in supporting student learning, she approaches her work with empathy, encouragement, and a commitment to helping interns succeed. This allows her to contribute to a positive, supportive environment that strengthens the KEYS community.

In addition to her direct work with interns, she assists with program operations and helps ensure KEYS activities run smoothly and effectively.

She enjoys the sense of community at BIO5 and being able to welcome the next generation of researchers.
