Ellie Dorland is a KEYS student assistant at the BIO5 Institute with majors in mechanical engineering and live and screened performance at the University of Arizona. She supports student connection, lesson planning, programming, and data science preparation for the BIO5 Institute's KEYS Research Internship.
She helps prepare KEYS interns for computational labs, assists with lesson planning, and supports student engagement throughout the year. She also contributes to KEYS programming and other duties that help the program run smoothly.
Drawing on a multidisciplinary background in engineering, performance, and computational skills, she approaches the role with creativity, technical insight, and a focus on helping students succeed in research environments.
She loves watching interns collaborate with researchers and seeing them grow as they engage in hands-on scientific discovery.
