Mario Marquez is the materials handler for the BIO5 Institute, supporting facilities operations, access management, and daily logistical needs for research staff, students, and administrative teams.

He manages BIO5 facilities service requests and coordinates with Facilities Management to resolve maintenance needs efficiently. His responsibilities include troubleshooting and managing building access for Keating and BSRL, assisting in the maintenance of the Monnit server that monitors freezers and lab equipment, and supervising operations at the BIO5 loading dock and package room.

In addition to supporting facility and access functions, he helps ensure a safe, organized, and responsive environment that enables research to move forward smoothly.

He enjoys supporting BIO5’s researchers and students on a daily basis.
