The BIO5 Ambassador Internship program is entering its ninth year, providing University of Arizona undergraduate students with an inside look at the BIO5 Institute. Each ambassador is matched with a mentor from the BIO5 staff and gains experience in the business and outreach side of the research institute.
This year, we’re excited to welcome Hadassah Yosef as our 2025–2026 BIO5 Ambassador.
Hadassah is a junior majoring in biology with an emphasis in biomedical sciences at the University of Arizona. She will be mentored by Caroline Bartelme who works in communications and content at the BIO5 Institute.
“I chose the BIO5 internship because of a strong passion I have for both sciences as well as business,” said Yosef. “I plan to go into dentistry and hope to run my own practice someday, so getting a chance to grow in both these areas of expertise was very exciting to me.”
Yosef is particularly eager to attend upcoming BIO5 events and learn how they are planned and executed. “I’m excited to learn more about communications and marketing alongside Caroline, as I don’t yet have much experience in this area,” she said. “I also hope to learn how to compose myself in a professional setting in a comfortable and confident manner.”
After graduation, Yosef plans to attend graduate school for dentistry and hopes to specialize in orthodontics.
Throughout the program, she will work closely with her mentor on individual projects, participate in professional development workshops, and receive hands-on experience in event and tour coordination.
