UArizona researchers Drs. Ruslan Rafikov & Olga Rafikova are working on diagnosing lung disease at earlier stages. Examining the metabolic profile of the patient, the researchers use a unique fingerprint known as a metabolite for pulmonary hypertension, to identify the disease before it presents. The disease can cause high blood pressure that can affect your heart and lungs along with other health issues.
